Role Overview
This is a full-time hybrid position with our HQ based in the Ribble Valley. As Senior Mechanical Estimator, you’ll manage day-to-day estimating tasks, analyse project requirements, prepare cost estimates, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely submissions for tenders, private opportunities, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses
- Monitor project costs and ensure budget adherence
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate and manage project risks related to cost control
- Prepare progress reports and financial forecasts
- Develop and issue programmes of work and risk assessments as needed
- Prepare and submit quality documentation tailored to project requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
- Proficient in cost estimating software (Trimble) and Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to build and maintain supplier and contractor relationships
- Familiarity with various tender platforms
