Role Overview

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Estimator located in Burnley, with the view for this to become a hybrid role.. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for managing day-to-day estimating tasks, analysing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates are provided.

Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates for HVAC projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis
  • Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budget
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Evaluate and manage project risks related to cost control
  • Prepare progress reports and financial forecasts for management
  • Develop and issue program of works and associated Risk assessments when required
  • Prepare and submit quality documents associated to project specifics

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity and Estimating or advanced industry experience, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
  • Proficient in using cost estimating software/excel and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Build strong supplier and contractor relationships
  • Familiar with various Tender platforms
