
Job Title:
Mechanical Estimator
Location: On-Site
Competitive Salary to be discussed depending on experience.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Estimator located in Burnley, with the view for this to become a hybrid role if the candidate requests to work from home. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for managing day-to-day estimating tasks, analysing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates are provided.
Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse cost estimates for HVAC projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis
- Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budget
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate and manage project risks related to cost control
- Prepare progress reports and financial forecasts for management
- Develop and issue program of works and associated Risk assessments when required
- Prepare and submit quality documents associated to project specifics
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity and Estimating or advanced industry experience, Construction Management, or related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Proficient in using cost estimating software/excel and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Build strong supplier and contractor relationships
- Familiar with various Tender platforms

Education:
- Bachelor’s (preferred)
- Advanced industry knowledge
Experience:
- 3 years minimum (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in project estimating and cost analysis
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Commercial & Industrial Gas Engineering, and Renewable Energy solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Relevant certification or degree in Engineering, QS/Estimating or related field
- Experience of using various Tender platforms
