District heating with ground source heat pumps connects communities to a low-carbon future.

Helping to achieve zero emissions in the UK by 2050; Vital Heating Solutions’ Shared Ground Loop services are the scalable and sustainable, low-cost and low-carbon alternative to traditional district heating.

District heating is a system that distributes heat to numerous properties. In traditional networks, heating and hot water is delivered to multiple properties from a centralised system.

Shared Ground Loop Array is a ‘decentralised approach’ to Fifth Generation District Heating. In Shared Ground Loop Array schemes, individual shoe-boxed sized Ground Source Heat Pumps are installed into separate dwellings and connected through clusters of communal district networks. An ambient temperature then circulates around the distribution pipework at -5°C to 20°C.
