It’s now even more important to keep your annual Boiler Service up to date.  If your boiler isn’t serviced annually, you can have low boiler pressure. Before we delve into the issues caused by low pressure, we need to understand what boiler pressure is and how it differs from water pressure. Boiler pressure is the pressure of hot water coming through your central heating system whereas water pressure refers to the pressure of water running in your taps.

Most central heating systems operate within the range of 1 to 2 bar. We can measure the exact pressure by taking a glance at the pressure gauge which is on the front control panel on our boiler. If the pressure is less than 1, you will have an inadequate amount of water running through your central heating system.

So, what are the key benefits of annual Boiler Servicing…

Identifying Problems early – Identifying any small problems before they turn into larger more expensive issues is wise. Not only could it save you money in the long run, but it will also help to keep your boiler running safely and smoothly. The longer small problems are ignored, the worse they will become. We’d advise that you get your boiler serviced every year to catch any problems before they escalate and keep your seasonal efficiencies.

Saving Money on Energy Bills – Having your boiler serviced could save you a lot of money in the long run. If your boiler isn’t working properly for whatever reason, it could mean that you are spending far more on your energy bills each month without realising it. Depending on what make or model your boiler is and how long you have had it will ultimately depend on how efficient it can be. Having your boiler checked to improve efficiency will not only mean you can save money it will also mean that your boiler doesn’t have to work as hard and will use considerably less energy.

Health & Safety – In the United Kingdom alone, carbon monoxide poisoning in the home accounts for 50 recorded deaths per year, and as many as 4,000 medical visits, according to the Department of Health.

Insurance – Some home insurance policies require an annual boiler service to validate the policy.

Water quality check – The annual service allows our engineer to clean and inspect any filters on the system, inspect the water quality and add inhibitor if required. This prevents corrosion and builds of magnetite which is the biggest cause of central heating system breakdowns.
